BUTTERMILK PIE
Step back in time to the days of old fashioned Buttermilk Pie! This is delicious served plain or a’ la mode!
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons flour
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
½ cup butter or margarine, melted
3 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-pie crust, baked for 10 minutes
PREPARATION:
In a medium sized mixing bowl, mix together sugar, flour, nutmeg and cinnamon. Stir in melted butter or margarine.
Beat eggs and add to mixture. Add remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly.
Pour into pie shell and bake at 350* for approx. 45 minutes to 1 hour. (or until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean)
YIELDS: 1 pie
